SHELTON CREATIVE DISTRICT
Shelton Creative District
Located in the heart of historic downtown Shelton, the Shelton Creative District is a growing hub for artistic expression, cultural connection, and community-driven creativity. Inspired by the city’s rich history and natural surroundings, the district brings together artists, makers, and neighbors through public art, performances, artisan markets, and hands-on workshops.
Led by a volunteer-run committee, the Shelton Creative District is working toward official designation through Washington State’s Creative Districts program—building a vibrant future through the power of the arts.
Our Mission
The Shelton Creative District exists to support and grow a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable creative economy in downtown Shelton. We bring together artists, makers, local businesses, and community members to foster cultural connection, economic vitality, and artistic innovation. Through events, partnerships, and public engagement, we aim to establish Shelton as a thriving hub for the arts in the South Sound and beyond.
About the Shelton Art Walk
The Shelton Art Walk is the Creative District’s flagship annual event, transforming downtown Shelton into a celebration of art, creativity, and community. Each summer, local businesses host exhibitions, installations, demonstrations, and performances, while artists, makers, musicians, and vendors activate streets and public spaces throughout downtown.
Free and open to the public, the Shelton Art Walk invites residents and visitors alike to explore the city, connect with local artists, support small businesses, and experience Shelton’s growing creative culture. The event reflects the Creative District’s commitment to fostering artistic exchange, economic vitality, and meaningful community engagement.
